Meet the Instructor

John Papageorge has been involved in the construction industry since 1973.

His understanding of IAQ began in Heating, Ventilation, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning as a trouble-shooter and repair technician. Later, in 1983, his experience evolved to general contracting in the fire/water restoration industry, advancing rapidly from marketing to estimating and project management.

As a remediation Project Manager, his primary responsibilities included all types of environmental projects from microbial and sewage back flows to asbestos abatement. During that time, he performed over 7,000 building inspections and managed over 2,500 projects.

He has been a microbial assessor and consultant since 2005. He investigates Indoor Air Quality issues with single family homes, multi-family residential buildings, commercial buildings and institutional facilities. His investigations include complaint determination to collection of data and samples for lab analysis. He then interprets data and lab results to develop a functional remediation work plan. He routinely performs forensic investigations in preparation for litigation and appears as as an expert witness. As a Microbial Assessor and Consultant, he has performed over 2,500 building inspections/investigations. His field experience is an on-going venture as he continues to lead IAQ and Building Envelope research. He enjoys being in the forefront of complex inspections.

Mr. Papageorge also authors and teaches multiple industry and safety training programs including Mold Remediation and Microbial Assessment in preparation for Florida licensure examinations. His teaching style is unique in that he presents his key points with physical examples and visual displays.
